Secret Headquarters
presents
GUILTY PLEASURES
New Portraits by
AIYANA UDESEN
Friday June 5th

Friends! It is my pleasure to announce our newest art show featuring the brilliant drawings of Aiyana Udesen.

Udesen, a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, has been raising various rodents in her San Francisco apartment for several years now. The admiration and respect she feels for these underdogs of nature are clearly showcased in her drawings. Brightly colored and carefully rendered Udesen's images juxtapose these majestic creatures with today's popular film, music and TV stars. Her art work and zines will be available for viewing for the month of June.

Join the talented Aiyana Udesen for an
informative slide presentation on rodent care
and a drink or two
Friday June 5th
from 8 - 10pm

Ryohei Tanaka

Friends! It is my pleasure to announce the newest concept in gallery style showings. Its a new idea and we invented it! And just the other night too.
We thought the amazing art work of Ryohei Tanaka would be the perfect imagery to give this high concept a go. So, please join us for stunning new art show featuring the work of Ryohei Tanaka!

After much thought and discussion we decided to call this new gallery event

That's right. For the first time ever on the face of the Earth you will be able to take home the art work you purchase at SHQ right there on the spot! No more waiting a few weeks for the show to end.

This is how it works:

1. Look at art work by Tanaka.

Tokyo-based visual artist Ryohei Tanaka has taken the simple art of folding a piece of paper and cutting it with scissors and ushered it into new realms of intricacy and imagination.

2. Let us know that you would like to purchase one of these fantastic pieces of art.

3. Almost there!

4. Now buy this artwork using cash or charge...

5. BAM! Take that sucker home. That day!
Right then and there!

SPECIAL NICE COSMIC
HYPERDEATH
New Art by
JOSH SIMMONS
THIS Friday April 3rd!

Friends! It is my pleasure to announce our newest art show super extravaganza featuring the uncomfortably talented rising star power house
Josh "the Pitbull" Simmons.

Mr. Simmons has been taking the comic book art world by storm with his unauthorized secret comics. If you are a fan of, say Bat**n, then you'll want one of these. We'll have the special made to order super underground sensation Josh Simmons comic on hand for the month of April.

Simmons may also be know, by far fewer people, for an outstandingly crafted yet remarkably unsettling made to order comic. We can't tell you the name of this comic master piece because we are afraid it will blow your mind! And its disturbing. So damn disturbing. Ask for the comic in the brown paper bag cover. No kidding.

Join the gifted Josh Simmons for conversation and a drink or two Friday April 3rd from 8 - 10pm. Simmons will be more than happy to answer questions in-regards to his full bodied and flowing hair, as well as acknowledge his incredibly powerful paintings, drawings and comics.

THE MONSTER SHOW by ROBERT GOODIN

Goodin-016260-14.jpg

Secret Headquarters Presents:

THE
MONSTER SHOW
New works by
ROBERT GOODIN

THIS FRIDAY the 6th at 8pm

I was going to talk about the art of starting a camp fire because of the image above but then I realized that I have never set one. So, instead, I thought a break down of Robert Goodin's Top 5 List of Boy Scout Merit Badges might be a suitable replacement.

#5: Coin Collecting - is there anything more soothing then the act of polishing a can full of coins? I don't think so.

#4: Archery - You were never allowed a bow because mom knew that you were going to fire multiple arrows at your younger brother. Boy Scouts clearly know that you have only the best of intentions.

#3: Metalwork - How else are you going to build that battering ram on the front of your first car..?

#2: Wilderness Survival - I assume that this course includes a Rambo knife...

#1: Railroading - Now that you have the necessary skills to be on your own it's time to hit the rails and live the live of freedom..! Freedom!

Join Artist and Boy Scout Robert Goodin for lively conversation and drinks. Goodin will offer free evaluations of your coin collections. Also, Goodin will have his newest comic book: The Man Who Loved Breasts and other illustrated projects on hand and available for purchase.

Secret Headquarters will feature Robert Goodin's one-of-a kind original works of art through February 27th.

SURFACE to AIR New Works by PHIL NOTO

Secret Headquarters Present:

SURFACE to AIR
New Works by
PHIL NOTO
Friday, December 12th

We discovered Phil Noto back in 1934, about the time we were inventing
comic books. It was in the legal system where Noto, a court artist,
feverishly developed his dramatic drawing style. Reporting for the
court was an honor not lost on Noto but after years of service he craved
more. He relished the thought of documenting an amazing voyage on
the open seas. So, with much debate, Noto packed his bag (not unlike a hobo)
and set off for adventure!

We rediscovered Phil back in 1982. Not long after he washed ashore with little
more then what he took off with (not unlike a hobo). He was found with blistered,
bloody and pastel caked hands. He had been blissfully creating masterful works
of art, on the sidewalk. We thought Noto's talent might be better admired framed
and hung on some solid walls.

Join Phil Noto for a drink starting at 8pm and be sure to ask about the tattoos
he got when he was traveling as a hobo.

Secret Headquarters will have
Phil Noto's art work on display from
December 12th, 2008 to January 11th, 2009
